Album Covers Gone Right

I popped into see Ingrid at her gallery The Residence to pickup my work from a previous work and was met by the most intricate, rude and genious collection of work I have seen in a while.

Album covers famous and obscure filled the gallery wall, possessing humorously devious changes deftly done with such skill that you sometimes don’t notice the alterations unless your were an Album Cover Lovin nerd.

Liam Ryan has been amazingly prolific and created nearly 40 covers in a month the exhibition ends today but check his work and visit the The Residence gallery for future exhibitions to coincide with their PV on the 6th November they have a live opera performance well Ingrid Z strives to keep people guessing.

Mark Bradford The Pistol that Whistles → pinocchioisonfire.org

I just came across his work randomly, like everything else in my life…I find his work inspiring and he currently has an exhibition at White Cube Hoxton that opens today!

He creates large-scale abstract paintings produced through varieties of collaged materials such as billboards, newsprint and carbon paper. He also works with sculpture, drawing and video installations.

Check it out!

BITCHIN' IN KITCHEN → spinetv.net

We received this this link from Spine TV who asked us to put it on our blog.

It’s all about supporting fellow food lovers who enjoy cooking up a storm in the kitchen and Naomi Shimada does it in a mad colourful way!

Recipe of the day

Benjamin Zephaniah

The British

Take some Picts, Celts and Silures
And let them settle,
Then overrun them with Roman conquerors.

Remove the Romans after approximately 400 years
Add lots of Norman French to some
Angles, Saxons, Jutes and Vikings, then stir vigorously.

Mix some hot Chileans, cool Jamaicans, Dominicans,
Trinidadians and Bajans with some Ethiopians, Chinese,
Vietnamese and Sudanese.

Then take a blend of Somalians, Sri Lankans, Nigerians
And Pakistanis,
Combine with some Guyanese
And turn up the heat.

Sprinkle some fresh Indians, Malaysians, Bosnians,
Iraqis and Bangladeshis together with some
Afghans, Spanish, Turkish, Kurdish, Japanese
And Palestinians
Then add to the melting pot.

Leave the ingredients to simmer.

As they mix and blend allow their languages to flourish
Binding them together with English.

Allow time to be cool.

Add some unity, understanding, and respect for the future,
Serve with justice
And enjoy.

Note: All the ingredients are equally important. Treating one ingredient better than another will leave a bitter unpleasant taste.

Warning: An unequal spread of justice will damage the people and cause pain. Give justice and equality to all.
